Northwood Hearts & Flowers Renninger Blue Compote
Description
Once again I continue to buy some beautiful colors and shapes of carnival glass! This time it is a Northwood Hearts & Flowers compote in fabulous Renninger Blue. This color is special to me since I live only fifteen minutes away from Renninger's Antique Market in Adamstown, PA. I believe this color was named for the Market where much of this particular blue color was found.
I have included a picture showing both a cobalt blue compote and a Renninger blue one. There is definitely a difference in the color of the glass, especially in the bowl of the compote.
I also found that the underside of the cobalt blue one is iridized, where the underside of this Renninger Blue one is not. I just love the iridescence of this compote!
It measures 6-1/2 inches wide by 6 inches high.
