Description
My mentor in carnival glass was my wife Terry. Without her I would probably have been a bum!
But, at our first ICGA convention in Rochester, New York in 1976, we met our mentor, George Loesher. He came into our room and, as you know, how excited he would get. As we newbies, at the time, began unpacking our glass and George started grabbing, we thought we hit the motherlode buyer. He said he would pay us if he could open the boxes. Never saw anyone stutter and get so excited. After that we saved him all our ice blue and aqua opal pieces.
He was so knowlegable and a friend for many years. As time went on we learned why he wanted the good pieces and now we have them. You will never meet anyone who loved carnival as he did.
