Brockwitz Germany Diamond Cut Shields Marigold Water Set

This marigold Diamond Cut Shields water set by Brockwitz seems to be one of those patterns that goes under the radar. It is very rare indeed for a full set to be found and this one came up at an American auction in 2008. Was I surprised to win it ? You bet!
The pattern reminds me just a little of Sowerby's African Shield. The iridescence is incredible and really shows the pattern at its best, especially on the tumblers.
The pitcher is mighty hefty and weighs just short of 2 Kgs.
The pitcher's height overall is 10.25", maximum width spout to handle tip is 9", the top opening is 5.25" wide, with a base diameter of 5". The tumbler height is 4", with a base diameter of 2 5/8", and a top opening width of 3".
