Brockwitz Germany Square Diamond a.k.a. Column Flower Blue Square Vase

Description

I purchased this blue square vase that I had always wished I could have but didn't think I could find. It's called Square Diamond and a German company named Brockwitz made it. It also goes by the name Column Flower.

This was sold at the Mid-Atlantic Jamboree Convention Club Auction in November of 2015. So many wonderful things were in this sale but if I had to choose one, it was this piece. The collection being sold that day by the auctioneer, Tom Burns, belonged to my friend Greg Dilian. They were nice enough to take my bid over the telephone when it came up.

It's almost 8.5" tall, 3" square at the top, and 2.5" square at the base. It's pretty hefty and has thick walls. The bottom is ground and has a 24-point star that looks like a flower. The geometric pattern appears to be cut into the surface resulting in an iridescence that is so stunning, so indescribably beautiful, that no photograph can capture it. It was made just for the human eye, twinkles like a star, like a diamond in the sky. It is so mesmerizing I can't help but keep it by my side on the table next to my easy chair so I can admire it as much as I can.

Another vase has just recently joined the spotlight with it called the Paneled Dragon Vase. It shares the same mystical diamond like qualities that are too difficult to catch in photos. Both of them are shown together here as well. It's like my friends Dick & Sherry Betker said; I've been bitten by Brockwitz electricity! They laugh at me because they know exactly what I mean. They also have one just like this one here on Showcase to show you plus two other square vases in different patterns. These square vases are rare, rare, rare! See them all in one place here under the Square Top Vase category.

For more information about this and two other square vase patterns, please visit with Glen & Stephen Thistlewood in one of my most favorite articles that has been my inspiration called "Baby, You're So Square!". You'll be glad you did. It worked wonders for me. One year later my dream has come true. Oh! The power of positive thinking!
