Dugan Apple Blossom Twigs Peach Opal Smooth Edge Banana Bowl

Here is our example of the Apple Blossom Twigs peach opal ruffled banana boat. According to Carl O. Burns in his book Dugan & Diamond Carnival Glass 1909 - 1931, this pattern was produced only briefly from 1911 - 1912. He further states how much rarer these bowls with the plain exterior and smooth edge are as opposed to those exhibiting the Big Basketweave and saw-tooth edge. As of 2014, these smooth edged plain exterior banana boats and plates have only been found in amethyst and peach opal.

After purchasing our amethyst piece a few years back, we were delighted to find this example on eBay in May of 2013. It’s a very nice companion piece for our amethyst one.
