Dugan or Diamond "Band" Amethyst Indiana State Fair 1925 Hat Vase or Basket

Here is a souvenir of the Indiana State Fair 1925 that I bought with a BIN on eBay. I don’t care about the silver on the exterior as it actually sets off the lettering nicely in my opinion.  The interior has nice iridescence. It stands all of 4 1/8" tall and has a 2 3/8" wide base.

Like most of the violet basket inserts, this one relies on a metal handle and holder for any decoration it might have, although most of them you’ll find won’t have the metal insert it sits in.  It was made by Dugan or Diamond and is found mostly in marigold as well as this amethyst example shown.  This is the first lettered piece I’ve seen in this pattern.
