Dugan Butterfly & Tulip Purple Bowl

We went to Boonville, Missouri to attend our first ever Mickey Reichel auction in January, 1998. Lots of excitement and also plenty of anticipation. There was plenty of great glass but one piece I really paid attention to was the purple Dugan Butterfly & Tulip bowl.

I had seen enough of these bowls to know that this one was special. What I really liked about it is that it looks like it could be green. I have never seen another Butterfly & Tulip bowl that has green iridescence like this one has. It reminds me of a butterfly in a lush green garden. We think it's awesome and we love it.

The back pattern on all these bowls is Inverted Fan & Feather, also known as Feather Scroll.
