Dugan Nautilus Oxblood Creamer Whimsey
Description
This beautiful example of this whimsied piece by Dugan was bought by us in the mid 90s. As far as I am aware, it came from a dealer in the United States.
I always had it listed as amethyst/purple as I had not heard of any other similar colours at the time. It was only around six or so years ago when I got it out to give it a good clean and held it to the light, that I realized I could only see light through the top edges. The light does not penetrate the sides or the base. Where the light does penetrate, the shade is a reddish purple. I do not have many Dugan pieces, but I have to say of the few that I have, three of them are Oxblood.
This creamer is 4" tall with an overall width of 6.75" and a base diameter of 3".
