Eda Sweden Sunk Daisy Amerika Large Purple Lavender Bowl
Description
We attended the ICGA (International Carnival Glass Association) convention in July of 2015. Sherry and I were room hopping when we hopped into Tim Cantrell's room. Tim always has a diversified assortment of glass; Carnival Glass, Art Glass, European Carnival Glass.
On one of his tables was this rather large Sunk Daisy bowl. Neither one of us had ever seen one so large as this one. The deal was made and now this bowl lives with us. Sunk Daisy, also know as Amerika, was made by Eda & Riihimaki but only Eda of Sweden made it in purple.
This bowl has pastel multi-colored iridescence that just gave me fits trying to photograph it. It's 4 3/4" high and is 7" across and is a beautiful lavender in color. We were lucky that no one else had spotted it because there were European Carnival Glass collectors there. My guess? It was just meant to be.
