Eda Sweden Tokio Blue Vase
Description
I have always, since 1998, hoped to have a chance to bid on a blue Tokio vase made by Eda of Sweden. This pattern so represents its name of Tokio. It reminds one of either a waterfall or the roof hatching of shingles on Japanese houses. These vases are 8" high with a 3 1/8" base.
My chance to buy one came on November 14, 2015. We were unable to attend the Wroda auction on that day but did a live phone bid, lucked out and won it.
When this vase arrived, it was better than the auction photo, which is always a nice surprise. It has this funky shiny copper-bronze iridescence that turns to purple with electric blue highlights.
Yes, it's different but that's okay with us because we're a little different too.
