Fenton Concord Marigold Plate
Description
This beautiful plate came from Gary Lickver's at the 2015 Texas Carnival Glass convention. I had run into my wonderful friend Dorothy Morgan and we decided to make our first trip into Gary's room.
As we walked into his room I spotted this amazing flash of marigold iridescence. As I looked on the top shelf (as we all know the pretty and expensive things are up there on those top shelves and/or hidden away) I spotted this amazing marigold Fenton Concord plate. I immediately grabbed the piece and was in awe. Not only was it spectacular, I had been wanting a Concord plate badly. It was high on my bucket list.
I immediately told Dorothy to look at the piece. (She will tell you that I grabbed it from her). What an amazing friend that I wouldn't have if it were not for carnival glass and the clubs. We love to joke about this story. The second photo shows Dorothy presenting the All Star Award to me at the 2016 Texas Carnival Glass Club Convention.
I have to say as pretty as it is in the picture, in person it is even more beautiful. I know lots of people have heard us talk about the clubs and conventions; however it is so true that you will meet wonderful lifelong friends and see and find glass that you will never find going to just antique malls and/or eBay.
Dorothy, this piece is dedicated to you my friend!!!
