Fenton Holly Green Plate
Description
Having been collecting carnival glass for less than two years ( I started on July 2015 ), I have certain favorite pieces that I really admire in my collection. One of them is this stunning 9 1/2-inch Fenton Holly plate in green. I remember acquiring it from a seller online in Sydney.
I was browsing for carnival glass listings last year when I saw about five or six pieces from one seller who just listed them as carnival glass without properly identifying the maker or pattern. So I message the seller that I am a carnival glass enthusiasts and I can help him identify the glasses he listed so that it can attract interests from buyers. Most of the pieces were marigold and peach opal. I identified all the pieces and messaged the seller.
After a couple of days the seller messaged me that all the pieces were sold and he was so happy. As a gesture he offered me a couple of pieces on which he was planning keeping for himself but after learning about my passion for carnival glass he decided to sell it to me instead. There were two pieces, one was an Imperial Pansy ruffled bowl in purple and the other was the Fenton Holly plate that was 1 7/8 inches tall.
When he sent the photos and I viewed them, I really got excited as both pieces were stunning. I didn't hesitate to take them both and when they arrived they were more gorgeous in actual than in the photos. Cheers!
