Fenton Holly Red Bowl

The first weekend in June is LLCGC (Lincoln Land Carnival Glass Club) convention time and the year of 2011 is one that neither Sherry or I will ever forget. Lincoln Land always has a raffle piece and that year it was a really nice red 9" ruffled Holly bowl made by Fenton.
At the banquet, someone always comes around with tickets for sale for the raffle piece. Sherry and I bought our usual $20-a-piece bunch of tickets. When the drawing took place, Sherry was saying, loud enough for everyone at our table to hear, "Say Sherry Betker... Say Sherry Betker...Say Sherry Betker" when someone finally pulled the winning ticket out of the drum and said, "Sherry Betker!". It was too funny! Everyone at our table had a good laugh when Sherry was handed her new acquisition.
I think we have been Lincoln Land members for 21 years now and to win the raffle item is a first for us.
