Fenton Ribbon Tie Blue 3/1 Edge Bowl
Description
Back in June, 1998, during the Lincoln Land Carnival Glass Club Convention, there were two women, members of this club, selling glass out of their room. Their names were Franny & Mary Kay. I don't know what their relationship was but they were always very close. These two girls sold glass out of their room for several years, starting in 1998. They always had spectacular and pristine glass and always demanded high prices, which they did get.
I spotted this Ribbon Tie bowl (also know as Comet) with a 3 in 1 edge treatment in their room and the price they wanted was more than I had to spend at the time.
After the convention auction on Saturday, I went to their room for one last try ot take this bowl home. They were in the middle of packing up and this bowl was still out. I made them one last offer and mentioned how it would be "one less piece to pack away" for them. I was a little surprised when they agreed!
Since then, we became good friends and for the next couple of years, we purchased many outstanding items from these two gals and then, when they were done, they were gone. They sold all their glass and dropped their membership and have never been seen or heard from since.
