Imperial Floral & Optic Red Stretch Cake Plate

We bought this Imperial red Floral & Optic cake plate at an estate auction in Evansville, Indiana in 2007. The brochure for the auction didn't look very promising but we decided to go check it out anyway and were glad we did. There was quite a bit of quality glassware there and we were interested in several things.
There were actually two red Floral & Optic cake plates in the auction. We looked them over and neither was damaged. Debbie and I had a family conference and decided if we could only get one thing it would be one of these plates. When they came up for sale they were sold choice and we were the winning bidders! I chose the one that was definitely prettier than the other.
We have several pieces of stretch glass that I think fit in nicely with a Carnival glass collection. The first piece we ever bought was a red Smooth Panels vase that Debbie found at an antique mall soon after we started collecting.
