Imperial "Imperial Grape" Emerald Green Water Pitcher

We are still at the Engel auction, June 17th, 2017 and this was the last item that we might bid on but I don't give it much hope. Because the Three Row vase and the blue Imperial Grape bowl went for a lot less than we expected, we still had some funds left when lot #364 came up. It was the Emerald Green Imperial Grape water pitcher by Imperial.
These pitchers usually bring a lot of money, anywhere from $10,000 to $16,000. In 2008, at the HOACGA, "Heart of America Carnival Glass Association", auction, one sold for $24,000 and I know the lady who bought it. With this particular pitcher, I watched the bidding go to $4,000 and stop. I thought, what was wrong with it? I took a chance and bid $4,250 and I won it. OMG, Really? I won it? WOW! It has outstanding iridescence all around and is pristine. What a way to end our perfect day.
