Imperial Loganberry Amber Vase
Description
The 2013 Heart of America Carnival Glass Association (HOACGA) convention auction featured the collection of fellow Texas Club members and very special friends of ours, Roy & Charlene Hieger of Texas. Roy & Charlene lived just about 20 minutes away from us so Bob and I had been to their home a number of times. Roy loved collecting Imperial Carnival Glass and we drooled over his fabulous collection every time we visited. Before we left for the convention that year, we dutifully circled everything in the Seeck Auctions catalog that we wanted to take a closer look at during the convention auction preview.
Bob and I love the pieces in our collection that have provenance. Those are the pieces that we can connect to our Carnival Glass friendships. They also have a story that can be passed down to future owners.
When auction time rolled around, we had narrowed our choices down to a few special pieces and, in the end, just three went home with us. The one that stole our hearts was the amber Imperial Loganberry vase, a spectacular piece that we were thrilled to take home with us.
