Imperial Shell & Sand Blue Bowl

In a Jim Wroda auction in November of 2004, there was this rare 7" cobalt blue "Shell & Sand" bowl, also referred to as  "Shell" by many. I could not resist and had to get this bowl to go in our blue Imperial collection.

I talked to Jim about this bowl before the auction. He told me that it was purchased at an antique mall. The person who bought it looked at it sitting on a table and thought, "Oh...A purple Shell bowl." or so he thought until he picked it up and turned it over. Wow, what a nice surprise, especially when the asking price was for a purple Shell bowl.
