Maker Unknown Four Flowers Variant Purple Plate
Description
While on our summer holidays in the Norfolk Broads, which is the east of England, we was on one of our touring days where we like to take in some of the local villages. Quite by chance we stumbled across a small antiques centre.
Credit for the find must go to our son Ashley, who is now a great spotter and can identify Carnival glass from many other types of glass, and called me over. He has also learned to find us in a calm and controlled manner as to not give away his secret undercover mission. Me on the other hand, once he showed me the plate I went into overdrive making my partner Lee stand to attention, guarding the cabinet with his life until I returned with the assistant and key to the cabinet.
To our delight the 9 1/2" plate was completely damage free, the colours looked good but only showed its true beauty after a little wash. The plate is now on full display in our lounge window and when the sun shines through the back of the plate the display is simply stunning.
