Millersburg Seaweed Amethyst Bowl
Description
This magnificent Millersburg piece came to us in a most unusual and unexpected way. Our good friend, Reg Dunham of Illinois, had found this stunner and posted the story and a picture on the daily mailing list of the Woodsland website. Right after reading his post, I sent him an email congratulating him on this wonderful find. Mostly joking, I wrote him that if he ever had a notion in the future to sell it, would he keep us in mind. We were quite shocked when Reg replied that the bowl was actually for sale. We've never regretted the purchase, not once.
This gorgeous bowl gets a lot of daily attention and notice as it resides over our refrigerator and catches your eye no matter where you are in the room. This is one of Bill's favorite pieces of Carnival Glass, he says that it looks like it's ablaze and reminds him of fireworks. It makes me think of a very colorful, mesmerizing whirlpool. It's a wonderful piece of satin Millersburg and a large one at 10" in diameter. Thanks again Reggie.
