Northwood Good Luck Blue Stippled Plate

Heart Of America Carnival Glass Association's April 2015 convention auction is where this Northwood stippled cobalt blue 9" Good Luck plate came from.

As far as stippled blue Good Luck plates go, this is a really nice one.

The term "stippled" means that the flat surface behind the floral, the horse shoe and the words "Good Luck" are normally very smooth. When it is stippled, that area will have a rough, textured surface. This was done to enhance the iridescence.

It's not just Good Luck pieces that are stippled. Many pieces are stippled, now you know what to look for.
