Northwood Poppy Show Aqua Opal Plate

I think that anyone who collects, has a bucket list. Well, ours just got a little shorter. This aqua opal Poppy Show plate was on E-bay the summer of 2015. It looked great in the photos but one never knows about photos on E-bay especially when they are taken using a black background, so I contacted the seller and asked if they could send me some photos of the plate on a white background.

The seller seemed a little confused and said that it looks better on black but he would send some using a white background for me.The reason being is if it looks good on white, then it is an awesome piece. He sent the photos and I saw what I needed to see. I ended up the winning bidder and the rest is history.

The plate has tremendous opal and striking iridescence, just what one would want in a piece like this. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be the new caretakers of this remarkable plate.
